This Privacy Policy explains how SynthChronics collects, uses, and shares information when you access or use our websites, applications, and services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account & Contact Data

  • Name, email address, password or SSO identifier, username/handle.
  • Billing details (when you purchase), such as payment card’s last four digits, billing address (processed by our payment provider).

1.2 Content You Provide

  • Photos, videos, audio samples, prompts, story text, and settings you upload or create.
  • Biometric-like content: images of a person’s face and voice recordings/voice prints you choose to upload for personalization features. We process this only to provide the features you request.

1.3 Usage & Device Data

  • Log data (IP address, timestamps, pages viewed, referrer), device and browser info.
  • Service metadata: model calls, generation outcomes, error logs, performance metrics.

1.4 Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use necessary cookies to run the Service and optional analytics/marketing cookies to understand usage and improve experiences. You can manage preferences via your browser or our cookie banner (where available).

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service (including AI generation, editing, rendering, storage).
  • Personalize outputs (e.g., characters, voice, styles) at your request.
  • Customer support, security, fraud prevention, and enforcing our Terms.
  • Analytics (aggregated/de-identified where possible) and product research.
  • Communications: transactional emails, updates, and—if you opt in—marketing.

3. Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

  • Contract: to deliver the Service you requested.
  • Consent: for optional analytics/marketing and for using face/voice features.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Legal obligations: compliance with applicable laws.

4. Sharing & Processors

We share data with vendors who help us run the Service, subject to data processing agreements:

  • Cloud hosting & storage (e.g., AWS S3/Cloudflare R2 or similar).
  • AI providers (e.g., OpenAI/Anthropic for text; Leonardo/Runway/Pika for images/video; ElevenLabs or similar for TTS).
  • Payments (e.g., Stripe) — we do not store full card numbers.
  • Analytics, logging, error monitoring.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights/safety, or in connection with a merger/acquisition.

5. Your Choices

  • Account controls: update profile, change settings, delete content.
  • Marketing: unsubscribe links in emails or disable via settings.
  • Cookies: manage in your browser or via our cookie banner.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate and legal purposes. You can request deletion of your account and content at any time (see “Your Rights”). Generated outputs may be retained for quality, audit, or safety unless you delete them or request removal.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by your jurisdiction). Do not upload children’s data without parental consent and lawful basis.

8. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries different from your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., SCCs) for data transfers.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. Your Rights

11. AI Training & Human Review

By default, we do not use your personal content (photos, videos, voice, prompts, outputs) to train our models without your explicit consent. Some third-party AI vendors may process data to provide their services; where available, we opt out of provider training. Limited human review may occur for abuse detection, fraud prevention, or support, subject to confidentiality.

12. User Content with Faces/Voices

  • You must have the right to upload and process a person’s image/voice. Obtain consent where required.
  • Avoid uploading sensitive or illegal content. See our Terms for prohibited uses.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you via the Service or email. Continued use means you accept the updated Policy.
